17 Year old Steve Humphries from Miami took out the double at the Shane Cross Memorial Skate Jam held at Pizzey Park supported by the G.C.C.C.

On Saturday the 3rd of March, Globe shoes, in conjunction with Thrasher magazine and the Gold Coast City Council held a weekend full of skateboarding events, including a bowl jam at Pizzey Park, a mini ramp jam at the Globe shop in Mermaid and the big finale--- a best trick comp down the infamous Varsity double set of stairs.

Beachside Skate Comp began in 2006 out of a need within our local youth group who were keen skateboard riders. 

No longer does the Gold Coast just have a ‘Superbank’, it now has a ‘Superbowl’.
