The media and its marketing have pushed this rise to a new high where many breaks are now dangerous to surf due to the amount of punters lining up. Therefore it is nice to know that the future of surfing and its technological developments are safe, as new artificial environments can be created to provide the ultimate surfing park!

O’Neill uploaded this clip of the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro as seen through the eyes of surfing’s wunderkind, John John Florence. Despite not making the finals his surfing was a sight to behold. A broken board is of no use, with this in mind Thomas Stubbs borrowed a JS Pier Pony and hit the small waves left over by a great swell. This was all filmed in one session at a place known for its long running fat but sometimes fun walls and a hoard of long boarders, the bluff. The pony rode glided through clean lines and kept good speed in and out of turns to burn the longboarders.

Billabong just uploaded their clip of a man who can safely call himself one of the world’s most unique free surfers. Dave Rastovich takes us on a trip through some of the other waves of the seven mile miracle that is the North Shore. Joel Pakinson features as do some unconventional looking boards, but then you’d expect nothing less from the man who is probably one of the best surfers on a twin fin on the planet.
